Tramways & Urban Transit

Description

Rosehill Rail manufacture two systems. The Rodded system is especially suitable for long crossings and those at an acute angle to the road and the Baseplated system for complex crossovers, turnouts and tight bends which are very commonplace in tramway systems.

Depots
The Rosehill Baseplated system was used in the example shown above for Sheffield Supertram’s Woodbourn Road Depot.

This project was rejected by two well known manufacturers of both rubber and concrete systems as being too complex to precision fit around points and turnouts.

Some panels were pre-cut in the factory by Rosehill and the final cutting was done on-site by Level Crossing Installations Limited to achieve a precision fit. The pictures to the right show how adaptable the baseplated system can be and why it was selected for this project.

Roadways
Rosehill panels reduce traffic noise which is especially important in an urban environment.

Pedestrian Crossings
Providing safe access for busy city locations.
