Investing in future talent: HS2 begins the search for more talented graduates

On 26th January, HSE launched its 2024 graduate recruitment programme to help the next generation of engineers, landscape designers, project managers and environmental specialists kickstart their careers.

Successful candidates will spend two years working alongside some of the very best in the rail and construction sector, whilst benefitting from 1:1 mentoring and support to help them advance their careers.

Since its launch in 2016, 100 graduates have secured a place on HS2’s graduate development scheme. This year’s programme, which begins in September, provides graduate opportunities in nine different departments including Infrastructure Management, Commercial Operations, Asset Management and Project Management.

Karen Davis, Head of Talent and Development at HS2 Ltd said:

“It’s an exciting time to be joining HS2’s graduate development programme, as we forge ahead with delivering Britain’s biggest build and transforming rail travel between London and Birmingham.

“This really is a great opportunity for university-leavers to earn and learn while putting their expertise into practice.”

Candidates will experience a critical new phase in HS2’s development, as state-of-the-art rail systems progress, allowing passengers to enjoy some of the world’s most reliable intercity train services. The construction of two new stations and the network control ‘nerve centre’ in the West Midlands are among the many major milestones the new starters will support.

Candidates interested in applying have six weeks to submit their application, with interviews scheduled to take place in the spring. Employment will commence in September 2024.
