FLIRT200 is the long-distance version of the FLIRT model series. With the launch of the faster version for intercity transport, Stadler has successfully broadened the FLIRT series.

The FLIRT200 is a high-speed single-decker Intercity train. By combining intelligent, innovative

design and much proven technology, Stadler is able time and time again to meet different requirements giving rail operators improved cost efficiency, less maintenance and more environmentally friendly operation, while also giving long-distance rail passengers connections they can rely on coupled with a high degree of comfort. Intercity trainsets of up to eight cars are possible in standard and broad gauge with different supply voltages. The interior of the FLIRT200 can be customised very flexibly to reflect customers’ individual requirements.

Stadler received the first order for FLIRT Intercity trains with a maximum speed of 200 km/h from the Norwegian state rail operator, NSB, in August 2008
