In January 2017, Rocla Concrete Tie, Inc. was acquired by the Vossloh Group, and now concrete tie products are part of the larger rail infrastructure portfolio offered by Vossloh North America. Rocla is the leading supplier of pre-stressed concrete crossties and switch ties in North America, serving Class I, industrial, and transit railroads. Rocla maintains its commitment to providing high quality concrete tie products delivered on-time and on budget.
Concrete crossties provide numerous advantages which makes it the ideal material for freight, industrial and transit railroads. Rocla concrete tie products can be found in some of the most demanding track conditions in North America, including areas of severe curves and steep grades, as well as extreme climates. Pre-stressed concrete ties provide;

Rocla manufactures a comprehensive line of pre-stressed concrete crossties ranging from 575 pounds for light rail applications to 900 pounds for conventional and heavy-haul rail applications.
Rocla manufactures concrete tie products at six facilities strategically located throughout North America. Through an exacting production process developed over many years of continuous R&D, every tie is manufactured to specific parameters and quality control procedures, which results in a finished product of absolute consistency.
Rocla Concrete Tie, Inc. maintains accreditation from Precast Concrete Institute (PCI) and the American Association of Railroads (AAR M-1003). We maintain certification in compliance with the strict policies of PCI MNL-116. Our facilities are audited by both of these accrediting bodies which ensure that our daily production routines are always in compliance. Every rail infrastructure project is unique which is why Rocla concrete tie products are specifically engineered to meet the exact conditions of each application. Before we produce a tie we consider all aspects of the project including operating conditions (annual MGTs, speed) as well as geographical/environmental factors (climate, temperature fluctuations).
