Class 195

Description

The Class 195 units are a DMU fleet built by CAF, based on their Civity platform, in their factory in Irun, Spain.

They will be used on the Northern Connect services out of Manchester Airport and Chester or Ellesmere.

The units have open gangways for improved passenger movement and security, high acceleration for improved journey times, hydro-dynamic braking, air conditioning and WiFi throughout, they also have a seat reservation system with en-route update capability.

These trains will be maintained by Northern at their Newton Heath Depot with support from CAF under a Technical Support and Spares Supply Agreement.
