Hitachi Rail’s contract for the maintenance of Paris’ Metro and tramway networks renewed by RATP

Hitachi Rail and RATP, the operator of the Paris metro, have signed a new contract worth €33m for maintenance services for a period of four years, renewing a relationship that ensures 24/7 availability of the metro’s services for millions of passengers.

The contract covers preventive and corrective maintenance of signalling devices and installations on nine lines of the Paris metro and seven tramway lines operated by RATP. Hitachi’s scope of work also includes assistance to the RATP for track work.

Hitachi Rail’s maintenance teams will operate 24/7 to ensure the reliability of the daily journeys of millions of commuters and visitors in the heart of the city of Paris. This contract continues an historic partnership between the Paris metro and Hitachi Rail’s French subsidiary since the launch of the very first metro, more than a century ago.
